The shoegazing Saint Petersburg five-piece released debut album ‘Everything Else Matters’ at the start of this year. But before you can even blink they are on to their second full LP ‘Grandfeathered’ which is out in only two months’ time.
With this announcement comes new single ‘The Cherry Pit’. This track has all the ferocity and fun-gazing (shoegazing with a lighter side) of their debut but with the finesse and audacity that comes with such a successful start to the bands career. After a breakneck speed UK headline tour last year, Pinkshinyultrablast were the ridiculously and brilliantly named band on the tip of every shoegazer’s tongue. They are are unapologetically fearless, proved by the mashed up madness that occurs at the ending of ‘The Cherry Pit’ which lets go of any posture and composure held by the teasing and tentative build up. The fuzzy feedback of guitars mix beautifully with the carol singer-esque voice of lead singer Lyubov Soloveva to make a wild but warm song.
Pinkshinyultrablast are ready for another hurtling storm of headline tours celebrating their rapid return with the new LP ‘Grandfeathered’, set for release 26 Feb 2016 via Club AC30. Pre-order here.
